When I first discovered NYD, I was in a state of not knowing what I was doing. I knew all I wanted to do was sing, but how could I? I’m a girl, I don’t over sexualize myself, and I’m not cookie cutter pop star material. That’s when I heard about New Years Day. I looked them up, and ironically that day they released a single called “Do Your Worst”. I listened and I was hooked. Ashley was such an inspiration to me, and she had such an impact on me. The first time I met them was at Warped Tour 2013. I was too amazed and star struck to even talk to them, until Ash brought up my MCR shirt and we talked about how upset we were they broke up. I felt at ease after that. It felt like we were just friends talking. The second time we met though, during their spring tour with Escape The Fate, that’s when I got to really talk to Ash. She is the kindest, most down to earth person I’ve ever met. She’s the kind of person I want as a friend. She helped me understand how much of a chance I really do have at doing what I love. The whole band are just the best people. They’re fun to be around. I hope one day I’ll have the opportunity to be as great and special as them. I’m crying as I write this, just thinking about it. Thank you so much New Years Day, for being there for a creepy, misunderstood girl like me.

Hi! My name is Shannon and I’m 16. On July 6th at the Holmdel, NJ Warped Tour Date, my mind was set on meeting BryanStars. The reason that I bought a ticket to warped tour was to meet Bryan. When I found my way to the warped youtubers tent, I was beyond heartbroken to find out that the meet and greet was sold out. My boyfriend and I decided to go to the meet and greet anyway to see if I could try to meet him anyway. I cried so hard watching other people meet Bryan, and my boyfriend decided that I wasn’t leaving without meeting him. We talked to the security guard and I begged him to just let me give Bryan the bracelet that I had made for him. The security guard finally agreed, seeing as my face was puffy and red, and my makeup was running from crying so much. When I gave the bracelet to Bryan, he asked me to tie it on for him so I did, and my hands were shaking. He told me that he would wear it all tour if it didn’t come off. When I was done, Bryan pulled me into the most sincere hug I’ve ever had. That was the moment I had waited for, for so long and my boyfriend got it all on camera. Right as I walked away from Bryan, I burst into tears because I had never been so happy. So that’s the story of how I met BryanStars. It was easily the best day of my life.
